I've been gushing over this engagement session to anyone who would listen over the last few weeks. It's just so special to me when I get to document the big life moments of my 'camp girls.' I've known Alpha since she was in 6th grade and I can't get over the fact that she's engaged now!

Bridget and Austin are so sweet together, and it was so much fun exploring the fall colors this last weekend to document this new stage of their relationship! <3

Find yourself a man who looks at you the way Don looks at Helen, even after 60 years of marriage!

To anyone I've met over the last few weeks: thanks for all your patience in waiting for your galleries!! Busy season is for real (understandably! It's gorgeous out there), and I've regularly been 6+ sessions deep in my queue. I keep joking with friends that I'm just a picture hoarder! 

Two galleries got sent out yesterday, and more will get sent out today! Can't wait for y'all to see all this fall goodness!

Busy week. Busier weekend! The leaves are officially showing color, and the air is feeling a little crisper. Welcome to the fall season, friends!

First 2024 Senior to kick off my fall season! 

We took pictures until it rained ... and then took some more! :)

We embraced the enchanted forest vibes for Sam and Emma's "bump" session. 

Sam and I grew up with this in our backyard. A tree-covered meadow that holds special memories for our mom when she was pregnant with Sam. So it feels maybe a little extra magical to have a full circle moment to take photos of Sam and Emma's pregnancy there, too. 

Only a few more weeks until we meet this little one, and I could not be more excited! <3

Holy wow, guys! I am officially all booked for the remainder of September, and only have one full session slot left in October. I still have a handful of mini-sessions in September and October, and a few full sessions in early November if you still want to get on my fall calendar and weren’t able to snag a session yet.

To those of you who are already on my calendar for the next couple of months - I’m so excited! I wasn’t able to do fall sessions last year (for good reason - I had my son, Elliott!), so I’m making up for it this year! Can’t wait to see all y’all!

When literally the first shot out of your camera is golden, you know it's going to be a good session. They were all excited giggles and happy feet when looking at each other or sitting next to each other. I think I said "CUTE!" at least ten million times during their session. So looking forward to their wedding next month!

Do you have littles coming to your session? Here are a few tips to make it as easy as possible for everyone!

🤍 Bring a small toy you know catches their attention! The photographer can hold it for some of the shots to get them to look near the lens!

🤍 Choose a location that is fun for them as well. Maybe one with a playground nearby! Sometimes it helps to get wiggles out before, after, and sometimes in the middle of the session! Sitting or standing still for an hour (or, let's be honest, five minutes!) is hard!

🤍 And, trust the process. Know that you're in a stage of life where your kiddo might refuse to look at the camera the entire session, and that's okay! Embrace the fact you'll get tons of great candid shots and show them things you see, make funny noises to get them to giggle, and give them all the goofy kisses and hugs. Plan to have so much fun with them that they don't even notice it's a photoshoot!

Even though this photo was taken two years ago (how have two years flown by?!) I still look at photos from this session and smile every time. 

Why is it still one of my favorite sessions of all time? The family came in expecting nothing except to have a good time together. They were relaxed (which, in turn, helped the kiddos relax). And they trusted me to document the interactions as they happened.

It felt like a photo documentary of their moment in life. It was genuine. There was love. It was fun. All the makings of a perfect session.

My hope for each of your sessions is that you love your photos for years and years to come (and that we have a blast taking them!)

There's something about August. I'm still clinging to the warm weather (I'm a summer lover through and through!) But I'll admit, I am a little excited about fall this year.

There's still time to grab photos with summer blooms this year. Hi friends! It's been a while since I've shown my face around here. I thought I'd pop in and say, "Hey!" 👋

It's been both a slow and busy summer.
Slow in the sense that I've not had as many sessions over the last month or so. And busy in the sense that I've taken that extra time for tons of other summery things, like traveling (to DC!), running a week of summer camp with the coolest high school girls, and spending all the time with my little family.

This fall is already gearing up to be a busy one, so I'm thankful for the breather that this summer has been. I'm planning a few fall mini-session days, so keep your eyes open for that announcement in the next day or so! I am so pumped for all the fun sessions I have booked in the next few months - and can't wait for the fall colors (even more since I wasn't able to do sessions last fall 🤰🤱). Y'all are awesome!
